Post BGP 29-07-2011

Well where’s a good place to start after a few hectic weeks ! The build up to the BGP meant stock to the suite and thank fully the service lift was working, im still struggling to get use to those 3 flights of stairs albeit once you are there the views from the Brookland Suite are just perfect,  The Friday of the BGP had weather just like race day of Moto GP, cold and wet but it didn’t seem to dampen the spirit of our guests. Saturday and Sunday the weather improved albeit we had our share of good old English rain. Race day arrived and I have to say there was a brilliant atmosphere on the balcony with the champagne flowing. I guess all good things come to an end and once the BGP had finished we had a couple of days to recover then we were back preparing for the Silverstone Classic and World Superbikes.  In between the BGP and Classics we did manage a day at the Fairford Airshow……… yes you guest it, it rained. But by late morning the weather front had moved on and the flying display started. It doesn’t matter how many times I watch the Red Arrows ill never get bored, unbelievable display. In finishing this blog, I have to mention the Silverstone Classic and no RAIN just plenty of sunshine………. Some of the highlights for me were the Group C cars on the Saturday evening with daylight fading, the E type Jags hundreds of them, the F1’s of yesterday with plenty of noise and the Red Devils display on Sunday, just a shame we didn’t see them land ! Let’s hope the good weather hold for WSB’s this weekend !

The Season has started ! 14-06-2011

Well, we have now completed the first 2 events for 2011. The FIA GT went well and was a good learning curve for us having moved from the Paddocks suites to Brooklands, I have to say the views of the track are just amazing and it made me wish we had moved years ago………. The following week we were back for 3 days of Moto GP, weather was a mixture of dry and certainly wet on race day and we were certainly glad of the covered balcony.  Feedback was great re our promotional Pils from Krombacher; I guess I new that by the amount of times I had to walk up and down the stairs to replenish our stocks. The gadget competition was easily won by our Guinness “machine” that certainly deliveries the perfect pint of Guinness. Now its time to prep the suite for the big one, The British Formula One Grand Prix, we are full all 3 days and have the Red Devils Parachute Display Team “dropping in” on the Friday, no doubt to try a Pils or Guinness ! Other events in July include World Superbikes and the Silverstone Classic which is a true family day out, so a busy month and we are looking forward to meeting some of Matthew’s customers from Classic Dreams over the coming events.

First blog 2011 15-02-2011

Well here goes for the first blog of 2011…….This year sees the opening of the new pit/paddock complex at Silverstone and Ultimate Racing move to Brooklands with the main difference being the view; Brooklands has the reputation of having the best view at Silverstone.  The season starts at Silverstone a month later than normal with the FIA GT championship over the weekend 4th and 5th June followed by Moto GP over weekend 10th ,11th & 12th June….. Tickets are going fast for Moto GP so book now to avoid disappointment.  Outside of racing we are offering any adventurous folk out there, a chance to take to the sky’s and then drop down to earth by completing a tandem parachute jump for charity  with the world famous Red Devils Parachute Display Team. We have two days allocated 14th June and 13th September 2011, places are limited and the day ends with a full parachute display by the Red Devils and BBQ (jumper’s guests welcome). If this is of interest please email me, ian@ultimateracing.co.uk and I will supply all the info covering costs and more detail. Well back to racing, you should now have seen the full event list by mail shot or on our new website. Hopefully there’s something of interest whether it be 2 wheels or 4 wheels old or new.  Both Helen and I look forward to welcoming you to the suite over the coming race season whether it is at Silverstone or Monaco and giving you and your guests a day out to remember.  If you have any questions or wish to book any events please email me on ian@ultimateracing.co.uk
